    What we eat and California’s drought

    Each week, the average American consumes more than 300 gallons of California water by eating food that was produced there.” This infographic shows you the best foods to eat to reduce the strain on California’s water supply and to secure one of our nation’s most prolific food sources.

    Meanwhile, since 2/3 of our nation’s fruits and nuts come from California, we can reduce both water and fuel consumption by increasing the fruits and nuts we produce – and eat – locally. And in the process, we can create new economic, environmental and recreational opportunities.

    Whether we plant in backyards, public parks, urban farms, school lots, congregational property, cemeteries – we can beautify Baltimore and make it a more resilient, sustainable and gracious place to live.
